Chaminade and the Immaculate Conception

December 8 for the Catholic Church marks the Immaculate Conception. It's a time when the Church calls to mind that Mary was conceived without sin. Her holiness allowed her to say yes to the angel, to God, to do God's will to bring Christ to the world.

The Marianists, also on this day, mark the first gathering in 1800 of the young men that met with Fr. Chaminade to create the first Marianist Sodality. That Sodality is what has become the Marianist Lay Community.

I've written a reflection on what Fr. Chaminade might have done to bring people together and suggest implications for us today.
